Pressure sores, bed sores or bed ulcers are a skin condition which affect elderly and/or bed bound patients. It is necessary for the nursing staff either at the hospital, nursing home or if the patient is at home the District Nurse to carry out a risk assessment on the patient so that steps can be taken to avoid such a condition which is often very painful and requires extensive and often painful treatment.
If care plans have not been put in place by the health care professionals then this could mean that negligent medical treatment contributed to the condition and patients may be entitled to compensation.
Please contact one of our Specialist Team if you or someone you know have suffered from pressure sores and we will be more than happy to help you.
Unfortunately surgical errors are the main cause of injury. The types of errors which occur include incomplete surgical procedures such as orthopaedic surgery to upper and lower limbs, hysterectomy, and the removal of tumours.
Due to the nature of some procedures, and the complex care required to be carried out by Medical Staff, the age of the patient and often the urgency of the care errors can be made.
If you have been affected by Surgical Negligence then please contact one of our Specialist Team and we will be happy to assist you.
When patients go into hospital they are often concerned with the cleanliness and infection control within the hospital. Some infections cause serious health problems.
Some of the hospital “superbugs” include:
- MRSA Methicilling-Resistent Staphylococcus Aureas
- Clostridium Difficile Associated Disease (CDAD or C-Diff)
- Glycopeptide-Resistent Enterococci
If you have visited hospital recently and contracted a hospital acquired infection or a member of your family has then you may be entitled to compensation.
